寮生活 Dorm Life

大学3年生の最後の学期を迎える中、学校生活で今でも影響されることは寮生活であると私は思います。現在、住む寮は20人ぐらい男子で共同生活していて共同キッチンでみんなと料理したり共同スペースで飲み会をする日常です。その中でもやはり食べ物が盗まれたりや共有物が壊れたりとかいろいろ問題もあります。寮はプライベートな時間がありません。でも、人間関係の複雑は学べます。

特に海外からの留学生は寮では文化交流のチャンスではあります。同時に寮は留学生と日本人がたまに考えがぶつかることもあります。寮はいろんな所から来た人が集まるところで、考えの幅が広がるチャンスです。正直に言えば寮にいることはいろいろカオスであるが、卒業までいても悪くはないと思います。

As I reach my end of my term as a third year student at University, my perception has been heavily influenced by my time living in the dorm. I currently reside in a dorm which resides about 20 something people per floor where we share a communal kitchen or even grab a drink in the social area. While I do enjoy this lifestyle, I do face situations like having my food stolen in the kitchen or even things being broken down. Living in the dorm, you won’t be able to have a time to yourself. Though you lose your own privacy, you will build character as you learn the complexity of human relation.

Especially for exchange students in Japan, dorm life is one of the chances to exchange cultures. At the same time, it also a place where the minds of people from different backgrounds clashes. Regardless, I believe there is a guarantee of broadening your mind from living in a dorm. I will admit that a dorm life is chaotic at times. Nevertheless, I’ll probably end up staying for another year…
